    Mike Klein: Great staff and best way to sail in the Twin Cities! I took the Adult Basic Keelboat class and 4 sessions later started taking friends and family sailing, all summer long. Great support from dock masters, shuttling to the boats and warning of storms as they approach. 23’ Ensigns are great for cruising Bde Maka Ska. Can’t wait to try the 420s next summer, maybe a little racing, too. A welcoming community! We’ll worth the membership - sail all you want for one annual fee. Thanks MSC, see you next summer ⛵️

    Northern Breezes is authorized by the American Sailing Association to train and certify students in all ASA courses.

    We host sailing excursions and educational trips to Key West, the Caribbean and the BVI. We also offer local friends and family sailing trips.

He offered extra advice and tips expand my knowledge.Great instructor.I had a blast.His sailboat is simple to learn on, he has everything labeled and walks you through every step of becoming a advanced sailor.Would recommend at anyone interested in learning how to sail.

    gurehamu: I just finished the basic keelboat class with instructor Tim Black on White Bear Lake and cannot say enough positives things. Tim is exceptionally knowledgable, patient, and thoughtful. This, combined with his love of sailing, made for one of the best learning experiences I've ever had.

    Will Kelch: I successfully completed Advanced Coastal Cruising with Capt Thom Burns on Lake Superior. This was a demanding and enjoyable learning experience. Sailing on Superior provides as much knowledge and experience as obtained in Gulf of Mexico, US East Coast or the Carribean. All aspects of this week-long training sail were outstanding. The opportunity to get signed off on spinaker was an added plus.

    4worldlovers: Learn to sail summer camp classes tailored for students who have little or no sailing experience

    All LMSS Instructors have received Red Cross First-Aid and CPR training. Lead staff members are US Sailing certified. All students and staff are required to wear a PFD at all times when in and near the water. LMSS works to keep instructor-to-student ratios low.

    At LMSS, there is a progression of classes to fit the needs of every student, at any age or experience level. Our program is organized into two tracks, Recreational Sailing and LMSS Race Teams. Sailors are encouraged to advance through these tracks as their skills improve.

    Designed for students who have little or no experience, or who want to enjoy a noncompetitive environment. These classes cover the basics of sailing, allowing students to gain confidence on the water and develop relationships with other sailors their age. Learn more.

    Designed for intermediate and advanced sailors who have previous race experience, the LMSS Race Teams have a mix of practices at LMSS and dedicated coaching at regattas to maximize improvement and meet individual goals. Learn more.
