It’s London in 1773, shortly before the Revolutionary War, but a different revolution was about to shock British homes and taste buds: Charlotte Mason’s “The lady’s assistant for regulating and supplying her table.”

This exhibit examines the history of Jewish community members working with local school districts to make space for Jewish Minnesotans to practice their religion without conflict. The exhibit is presented by the Berman Upper Midwest Jewish Archives at the University of Minnesota. Open through Jan. 30, 2024 at Elmer L. Andersen Library.

4worldlovers: Located in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis, East Lake Library opened for service in 1924 during the area’s major manufacturing boom. In 1976, the library relocated to its current location. It was renovated and expanded in 2007.
